These friendly conifer seed bugs may coat-tail into your home as they have into mine, with your firewood. They don’t bite or sting or smell or hurt anything, but are cute conversation topics when you have company over.
They seem to sort of hibernate in my wood shed and I try to knock them off the pieces I bring inside but some get by me and warm up when they are in the living room. Then they start to explore, sometimes taking wing around the room. They are so friendly they will crawl right up onto your hand if you keep still long enough.
I don’t know squat about bugs and there are two black spots on the front end of their bodies that look like eyes to me but I think their antennae are what they use to ‘see’ with because if you move a finger near them the antennae wave around and they stop to maybe try and figure out who you are.
I think they’re cute.
